Brad Paisley’s Dad Helps Save a Life

There’s a country song in here somewhere. And Doug Paisley gets to play the hero. Because here’s what happened on Saturday night (Jan. 9) at the Brad Paisley show in Wichita, Kans. Paisley’s dad Doug saw a man on the floor in an arena hallway in some kind of distress (which turned out to be a heart attack), and he got down to business right away and started performing CPR along with another man. The man having the heart attack turned out to be an venue employee. And Doug Paisley, a volunteer firefighter and EMT, knew just what to do until the paramedics arrived. He was even getting the venue’s automated external defibrillator ready. But then he said, “I kind of backed off and let (the paramedics) use theirs.” Sounds to me like the elder Paisley was at least half the man he didn’t have to be.
